Of all the plastering services I offer, skimming is the most popular. Covering over an old wall with new plaster is a great way to give your rooms a clean and modern look. Whether you are redecorating your lounge and want to be rid of the old fashioned lining paper, or perhaps you want to prepare the box room for the arrival of a new born, this method is quick and looks great.

For a long time now, people have been brushing and spreading artex over ceilings to save them having to decorate. Recently, this technique has become quite unfashionable, and a lot of the work I undertake is the covering of these textured ceilings using modern plastering techniques which leave a flat smooth finished surface ideal for painting on.

Dry lining where plasterboard is adhered to the walls using a modern adhesive is a great way to get a very flat insulated finish. Most modern houses are constructed using this technique, but I also use this system also known as dot and dab to bring old properties up to date. The boards are finished with a coat of skim left flat and smooth ready for paint.
Living in an area with lots of fairly old houses, a lot of the plastering I undertake is renovation work. Whether it is a property with old plaster which had been knocked off to reveal the brickwork and which needs re-instating, or old lath and plaster ceilings in need of some care and attention, I am fully experienced and have the range of plastering skills to do the job.
The most common type of insurance work I undertake is damage caused to internal ceilings and walls from a water leak. This often involves the removal and disposal of old plasterboard, then reinstating back to its original state. I offer free quotations, and I can advise you as to what sort of work will be involved when I visit.
